Hey, guys. I'm pretty sure that the majority of you know how to conduct yourselves on a forum, but these rules are placed here for those who might not know how one works. Hopefully these rules will be a great outline for our future members.
1. Please be sure to use proper grammar. Nobody likes to read a post containing, "hai guyz, dis b my pyktur eye dru earlier. Hop u ppl lick it alot!" Users who type like this will be given a warning.
2. Do not post flash files without a silent pre-loader.
3. Don't double post, there is an "Edit" button for a reason.
4. Watch the length of your signature. If your signature exceeds a certain size, it will be subject to reduction from either image pixel reduction, or a staff member removing some content.
5. Try to avoid using too much slang or abbreviations.
6. Don't start a flame war with your fellow members. If there is a particular member you do not wish to notice, simple choose to Ignore them. Future revisions to the site will give you this privilege.
7. If you are going to critique someone's work here, do so in a constructive manner. Posting "this is shit" will not be tolerated, and the user posting will receive a warning.
8. If you are given a temporary suspension, do not try to dodge it by making another account to sneak back into the boards. You'll simply be IP banned.
9. Make sure that when making threads, that they are in the right board. No warnings will be given, but the staff probably won't want to move threads constantly.
10. Be polite and courteous. We are a community and we should act like one.
11. Don't use excessive smilies.
12. Don't post your identity on here. This is the Internet; if you get anything personal of yours hacked, it's your own fault for posting that information in the first place, and we will not be responsible for it.
13. Under no circumstances are you to steal anyone's work and claim it as your own. If you do, it will result in a perma-ban.
14. Do not share illegal files on the forum. Again, this is not something that we will be responsible of if you are caught doing something like that.
15. Members, do not backseat-moderate. We have plenty of staff on the forum here, and we know how to do our job.
16. Do not advertise on the boards. If you wish to have any sort of ads to a site of yours, like a Youtube channel or Newgrounds page, just simply keep the links in your signature. DeviantArt accounts can be added to your Mini-Profile by modifying your profile and adding your dA username in the proper text-entry field.
17. If you are needing voices for an animation or film that you are working on, please be sure to post what roles you need, along with a proper description of the character and a few sample lines for our voice actors here to work with. You won't find much luck not doing this.
18. We will not teach you how to draw or animate. However, we can give advice how how we work with our own styles, if the artist is up for posting that sort of information. This is a community; it's nice to learn a couple of tricks from the other artists.
19. When quoting another user, please be sure to not quote unnecessary amounts of text or images, and that would be tl;dr.
20. Do not post pornographic images or videos here on the forum. This is an open-age community, and there will possibly be younger members here. If you draw more mature art that you feel shouldn't be viewed by younger users, keep it in the Adolescentles board so that they can't view it.
21. Don't 'necropost' in any thread. Necroposting is where you are reviving a dead topic by posting in it after one or more months since the last post. However, if you truly have something to add to the relevancy of the thread, then that would be allowed. Normally, if the thread is dead, it's probably dead for a reason.
If you have any suggestions for rules, please post them here.
